CBM Australia launches End the Cycle

CBM Australia recently launched End the Cycle, a community engagement campaign seeking to raise awareness of the cycle of poverty and disability. End the Cycle is an issue-focused campaign that promotes the inclusion of people with disabilities in all aspects of development.

This is aligned with AusAID’s Development for All strategy and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities. They are inviting other organisations to endorse End the Cycle. By endorsing, an organisation is stating that it recognises that people with disability can be caught in a cycle of poverty and disability, and that the organisation will do what it can to ensure people with disabilities are included in its work.

They will display the logo and website of endorsing agencies on their “Partners” page (http://endthecycle.org.au/content/our-partners ) and encourage partners to also promote the campaign as appropriate through their networks. They will also invite partners to contribute news-articles about disability inclusion in their work for End the Cycle’s regular e-newsletter.
