Brandon Ah-Tong leading by example

Vision 2020 Australia is delighted to announce that Brandon Ah-Tong, Director of Policy and Advocacy, has been shortlisted for the 2014 Victorian Disability Sector Awards.

The Victorian Disability Sector Awards—a joint initiative between National Disability Services and the Department of Human Services—celebrate the achievements of individuals, teams, organisations and businesses assisting people with disabilities to achieve their personal goals.

Jennifer Gersbeck, CEO Vision 2020 Australia, who nominated Brandon for the ‘Emerging Leader’ category has praised him for his extraordinary achievements.

“Brandon has achieved an enormous amount for people who are blind or have low vision in the eight years he has worked in the disability sector,” Ms Gersbeck said.

Brandon is engaged with policy areas across national, state, and local jurisdictions and his achievements span from improving accessibility in Victorian taxis; ensuring blindness and low vision are included in the National Disability Insurance Scheme; and matters relating to immigration for people with a disability.

Vision 2020 Australia wishes all the nominees good luck. Winners will be announced at the Disability Sector Awards Ceremony on Wednesday 4 June 2014.
