Global Ambassador visits Vietnam

World Sight Day a Success

World Sight Day (WSD) celebrated on 11 October this year, was a huge success, largely due to the support of government, Vision 2020 Australia members, supporters and champions, as well as wide media coverage of WSD events. With a strong theme for this year’s campaign – that 75% of blindness and vision loss is preventable or treatable – the key message was spread far and wide.

ICEE changing name to Brien Holden Vision Institute Foundation

From 3 September 2012, ICEE will be known as the Brien Holden Vision Institute Foundation to celebrate its long-standing partnership with the Brien Holden Vision Institute, its founding supporter and partner, and eye health and vision care research non-profit organisation. By aligning the two organisations, the Foundation and Institute will work closely to harness their networks, expertise and resources, and together, achieve much more.

Vision 2020 Australia Prevention and Early Intervention advocacy update

The Prevention and Early Intervention Committee (PEIC) met on 18 April 2012. It was Genevieve Quilty’s first meeting as Chair of the PEIC.  Guest speaker, Terry Findlay – Director of the National Transition Project at the Australian General Practice Network (AGPN) – updated members on Medicare Locals and the systems being put in place to monitor their performance.
