A highly experienced Board of Directors, led by Chair, the Hon Christopher Pyne, sets the strategic direction for Vision 2020 Australia. The organisation’s activities are undertaken by a high-calibre team, led by CEO Patricia Sparrow. The teams’ collective work history reflects decades of combined experience in leadership, policy development, program management and advocacy, working with Government and in the not-for-profit sector.
Vision 2020 Australia engages with members to exchange views, share information, collaborate and develop policies, strategies and submissions to improve eye health and vision care for all Australians. A three-year strategic plan and related member strategy underpin engagement with members. This strategic approach to member engagement ensures that all members participate with equal standing and enables a broad cross section of views to be considered.
Policy committees directly align with the strategic goals of the organisation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people; Independence and Participation; Prevention and Early Intervention and Global committees recognised as priority areas. Committee composition reflects a range of expertise and experience and includes member organisations that have a shared interest in these four policy development areas.
