Seeing Results: The changing face of eye health and development in the region

Much has been achieved across the Indo-Pacific region because of Australia’s global leadership and investment in eye health and vision care. In Pakistan, training of female eye health workers has led to wider impacts toward gender equality; in Vietnam, children with low vision are included in schools with sighted students; in PNG, an affordable pair of glasses is all it takes to affect poverty. Addressing the need for appropriate eye care services strengthens and empowers communities, societies and countries.
