Carla NorthamCarla Northam, CEO Vision 2020 Australia

Chief Executive Officer 
Carla has over 20 years experience as an accomplished senior executive in various industries and sectors including not-for-profit and member-based organisations. Most recently, she was the CEO at national peak body and member-based organisation Family Day Care Australia.

Carla has strong and proven experience with a highly applicable background that aligns well in leading Vision 2020 Australia into its next phase. Her background in the health area gained through her roles at the Vision Eye Institute and Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute will be highly valued in her new role. Carla also possesses a highly developed political acumen and has extensive experience engaging with the Australian Government on advocacy issues on behalf of members, recognised through an appointment to a Ministerial Advisory Committee.

 

Silvia Theodoridis Silvia Theodoridis

Global Policy and Advocacy Manager 
Silvia has over ten years experience in global health, population and international development. She worked in various advocacy roles for not-for-profit organisations in Australia, Belgium, France, and Switzerland. She joined Vision 2020 Australia in 2017 and manages the Policy and Advocacy team. Silvia holds a Master of Arts (Public Law) and Bachelor of Arts (International and European Law) from the University of Paris.

 

Dee TuminoDee Tumino

Vision Initiative Program Manager
Dee has over seven years experience working in prevention and population health and 15 years in project and program management. The Vision Initiative is implementing projects to improve awareness and understanding of eye health and vision care in areas of Victoria at an increased risk of eye disease. Dee oversees the program and works collaboratively with partner organisations from across Victoria.

 

Adam SawellAdam Sawall

Communications Manager
Adam has over eight years experience as a communications advisor and strategist working with Australian peak bodies, not-for-profit organisations and state government. Prior to this he managed a UK public relations consultancy with an international client base. Adam leads the organisation’s communications priorities including member and corporate communications, media relations and the annual World Sight Day campaign.

 

Sarah ZerbibSarah Zerbib

Vision Initiative Health Promotion Officer
Sarah has 11 years experience working in the eye health and not-for-profit sectors in the UK and Australia. She joined the Vision Initiative team in 2012 after working for an eye health charity in the UK for seven years in varied roles including development, public awareness and marketing. 

 

Christine PereiraChristine Pereira

Vision Initiative Health Promotion Officer
Christine has over 10 years experience in research and evaluation. She recently completed a Master's in Public Health. Her role at Vision 2020 Australia involves achieving the objectives of the Vision Initiative through collaboration with health professionals and the community, and coordinating and evaluating program activities.

 

Bhawana YadavBhawana Yadav

Vision Initiative Health Promotion Officer
Bhawana’s professional interests revolve around health promotion and disease prevention programs. She has over eight years experience promoting health and wellbeing from a nutritional perspective in a wide variety of clinical, community and corporate settings. She worked for a multinational health care company for four years. Bhawana has a Master of Science (Food & Nutrition) from India, and a Master of Public Health from the University of Melbourne.

 

Nicolette TorcelloNicolette Torcello

Vision Initiative Health Promotion Officer
Nicolette has extensive experience in health promotion having worked in the prevention and early detection of women’s cancer with recent experience in the eye health sector. She has post graduate qualifications in health promotion from Deakin University and enjoys working with Aboriginal and culturally diverse communities particularly in rural areas. She has worked passionately in health promotion and looks forward to making a difference at Vision 2020 Australia.  

 

Sarah DaviesSarah Davies headshot

Policy and Advocacy Adviser
Sarah holds a Bachelor of International Relations and has experience working in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Central Australia which has led to a particular personal interest in closing the health gap for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Having worked with Vision 2020 Australia since 2014, Sarah has a wealth of knowledge regarding eye health and vision care and works with the team to develop strategic policy and advocacy initiatives which address issues identified by the sector.

 

Peter Von EinemPeter Von Einem 

Policy and Advocacy Adviser
Peter has a broad range of experience in public policy, including employment in government, politics and university teaching. Most recently, Peter worked for the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services, within the Safeguarding and Community Services branch. He is currently undertaking a Master of Public Policy and Management through the University of Melbourne, and is an alumnus of the Queensland University of Technology. At Vision 2020 Australia Peter works in the Policy and Advocacy team, focusing on independence and participation advocacy.
 
 

Ellie CooperEllie Cooper

Communications Coordinator
Ellie previously worked as a journalist, specialising in the not-for-profit and social sector. She holds a Bachelor of Journalism and a Bachelor of Writing and Creative Communication. At Vision 2020 Australia Ellie looks after communication channels and assists with media relations.

 

 

Karen BignellKaren Bignell

Office Manager
Karen holds a Bachelor of Law degree and has over 20 years of experience in office management working in various industries and sectors, including corporate finance, education and manufacturing.  As Office Manager, Karen provides administration and governance support to the Board, CEO and team at Vision 2020 Australia.

 

 

Trevor OlsenTrevor Olsen

Senior Bookkeeper 
Trevor has over 20 years experience in the not for profit sector. Prior to this he  worked in the public sector as a bank manager. He has extensive knowledge of member based and charitable organistions. Trevor provides financial support to the Vision 2020 Australia Executive team and CEO.
